IRIS · THE EYE FOR JAPANESE
Your reading stays with you.
Iris separates local reading from cloud services. This policy describes the new Iris application.
Local reading
Japanese tokenization, dictionary lookup, saved transcripts, PDFs, and vocabulary reviews run on your device. Iris does not send the pages you read to its servers for coloring.
Cloud features you request
When you request a draft or meeting analysis, the selected content is sent through Iris to Google’s Gemini API. Iris does not store the content in its application database or request logs. Google processes requests under its applicable API terms; Iris does not promise zero provider retention.
Your account and paid sync
Supabase stores your account and, when you enable paid sync, saved dictionary vocabulary and review events. Meeting transcripts, source URLs, source sentences, and assignments do not sync. Paddle processes payments and stores your billing records.
Optional measurement
With your permission, Iris collects content-free feature events. It does not collect raw emails, page text, or meeting content for analytics. Turn measurement off in your account to delete raw optional events. Operational usage and billing records remain necessary to provide paid services.
Control and retention
Export and delete local data in My Sky. Export cloud data or request account deletion in your account. Optional raw product events are retained for up to 90 days. Billing records may need to be retained for financial recordkeeping.
